About 6 years ago CMI Accessories (as we know it today) was born as a spin-off from Cosmopolitan Costume Jewellery. The idea was developed for mobile accessories to cater for the emerging market of mobile phones - being more than just a tool for business but a lifestyle and fashion statement which is aimed directly to the consumer market. So was born Cosmopolitan Mobile Imports. Later it was called Cosmo Mobile Imports and today with us the current owners we are known as CMI Accessories.
In February 2003, the business changed hands to the current owners, Enzo and Rachel Carrara. After 10 years of owning and operating multi sites of a leading mobile phone franchise the Carrara’s saw the opportunity of putting their retail skills and telecommunication knowledge into the business of suppling accessories for mobile phones.
With well established players in the industry they looked at how they could fill the gaps that were not being catered for and developed the business in that direction both from a product range and service point of view.
Today CMI Accessories is a Mobile Accessory distributor who supplies accessories to stores from Cairns to Hobart and across to Western Australia. In the last two years our business has grown two fold, with supply arrangements with Battery World Australia, B-Shop, Network Communications, Power Mart and Mobile Phone Warehouse to name a few.
CMI Accessories has established its self as a Complete Mobile Phone Wholesaler with a huge growing range of products who not only stocks a large range of colourful fashion accessories but one who can support accessories for many of the older, but still very popular models. This is one of the unique propositions that CMI Accessories delivers daily.
Our distribution method although not unique is uncommon in this industry and is appreciated no end by our clients. We regularly visit most of our clients with fully stocked vehicles so that they can obtain the full visual impact of products with the complete range to choose from; and be able to determine exactly what products will work with their demographic in their location.
Speed is also important to our clients, together with Australian Air Express and Fastway Couriers we are able to deliver to most of the nation overnight. No orders are too big or too small to handle; our aim is to fill all orders daily & be dispatched for next day delivery and typically orders place by e-mail are dispatched with clear notification of what stock is on its way.
In October 2005 we felt the timing was right for a Web Site & with many requests from our clients we believed that the penetration of broadband was right for a comprehensive web site to be of value to them.
Our stock list has always been dynamic; no sooner do we print our Price Lists, we have to make amendments for new models & products. Our Web Site will fix this with accurate up-to date information on line as it’s required.
Some of the features we have incorporated was on-line ordering, search and cross referencing of accessories and a public viewing area which hides wholesale pricing.
To coincide with our Web Site we have given CMI Accessories a fresh new look – gone are the colours Orange & Grey to welcome in the Blue & Green. Initial feedback from our clients is that our new colours deliver a quality look and feel to an already great product within.
